Words from the chair of the 10th Worldcongress for PWS

To all PWS, their friends and families, welcome! The Netherlands Stuttering Association Demosthenes is happy to inform you about new developments.

This September brought us a new organization. On Friday September the 23rd 2011, the Foundation World Stuttering Congress 2013 was founded.

We are very happy that we are now officially very official. This foundation is needed to organize the 10th Worldcongress for PWS. From this moment on, we will be making plans, discussing speakers, searching for perfect events and keeping all of you informed about our progress.

The two of us are oldtimers in the stuttering world:

Maartje Borghuis was one of the founding members of our youth group Dionysos in 2002 and that initiative lasted untill 2010. In 2008, she also became a boardmember. After visiting the World Congress in 2007 in Croatia, plans were made to go to the next one and that’s how she ended up presenting our bid in Buenos Aires. As of now, she’s the chair of this new Foundation, which will organize a great world congress in 2013.

Richard Bourgondiën has been active in our national association since 1998 and has been responsible for our digital world since 2002. He is a boardmember since 2006 as webmaster and international contact. He also became boardmember of ELSA (European League of Stuttering Associations) in 2010.
